Awakening Inner Magic: A Somatic Self-Love Journey to Uncover Your True Potential and Universal Connection
I am a born believer. Not in the way some religions have co-opted the word… a believer in magic, miracles, spirit guides, and most importantly love. The All That Is. The Universe.
I grew up Mormon. They have (problematic white guy with blue eyes) portraits of Jesus sprinkled throughout the worship houses. At four, my mom asked what I was staring at for so long, and I triumphantly told her I would marry that man on the wall.
I did my 6th-grade science fair project on clairvoyance and Edgar Cayce.
My heart has always yearned to explore the unseen, touch the ineffable, and connect with the divine.
While my classmates immersed themselves in projects about volcanoes and photosynthesis, I was captivated by the mysterious world of clairvoyance.
Life's full of skeptics and naysayers, but that's never stopped me on this journey of mine. I've learned that magic isn't about pulling rabbits out of hats or making things disappear.
The real magic lies in opening our hearts and minds to the incredible possibilities all around us. It's in believing in love, spirit guides, and the idea that we're all connected in this big, beautiful universe.
As I continue to walk this path of self-discovery and spiritual awakening, I am grateful for the challenges and lessons that have shaped me. I am proud to be a born believer, a seeker of the unfathomable, and a lover of the ethereal.
Sharing What I Have Learned
By sharing my story and the Somatic Self-Love Toolkit, I hope to inspire others to embark on their own journeys of self-discovery, love, and spiritual connection, embracing the magic that exists within each one of us.
In the spirit of vulnerability and connection, remember: the power to create magic and experience the miraculous resides within you. All it takes is the courage to open your heart, embrace your authentic self, and step into the unknown.
Why This Matters to Somatic Self-Love?
Somatic self-love is a powerful and transformative practice that invites us to courageously embrace our vulnerability by connecting with our bodies and our emotions. Through this intentional, embodied connection, we can truly experience the magic within ourselves and cultivate a more profound sense of belonging to the universe.
We open ourselves up to wholehearted living when we're present and attuned to our physical sensations and emotions. We recognize that our bodies are sacred vessels, carrying our stories, strengths, and vulnerabilities. By loving ourselves through somatic practices, we're not only fostering self-compassion, but we're also forging a powerful connection to the universe and the energy that binds us all. Through this alignment between body and spirit, we experience:
- Expanding awareness: Belief in magic and love allows us to open our mind and heart to new possibilities, experiences, and connections. This expanded awareness can deepen our understanding of ourselves and the world around us, leading to a more profound somatic self-love practice.
- Cultivating a sense of wonder: Embracing the magical aspects of life encourages us to develop a sense of wonder and curiosity. This mindset can help us approach our body and emotions with openness and non-judgment, fostering a deeper connection with our inner experience and enhancing our somatic self-love practice.
- Encouraging vulnerability: Belief in magic and love often requires vulnerability as we open up to the mysteries of life and the potential for deep, transformative connections. This vulnerability is also essential for somatic self-love, as it allows us to fully feel and experience our emotions, leading to greater self-compassion and acceptance.
- Nurturing connection: Magic and love often emphasize the interconnectedness of all things, fostering a sense of belonging and connection to the universe. This awareness enhances our somatic self-love practice, as we view our bodies and emotions as an integral part of the larger tapestry of life, deserving of love and care.
- Fostering growth: Belief in magic and love can be a powerful catalyst for personal growth. By embracing the transformative power of love and the mysteries of the universe, we create the opportunity to heal emotional wounds and nurture a deeper sense of self-love and acceptance. This healing, in turn, can further support our somatic self-love practice and enhance our overall well-being.
In summary, believing in magic and love can positively impact our somatic self-love practice by expanding our awareness, cultivating a sense of wonder, encouraging vulnerability, nurturing connection, and fostering healing and growth. By embracing these aspects of life, we experience love more fully within our body and create a deeper, more meaningful connection with ourselves and the world around us.
Embracing the Infinite - A Somatic Self-Love Practice for Belief in Self and Something Bigger
Objective: To cultivate a deeper connection with yourself and the universe through a body-based practice focused on fostering self-belief and an appreciation for the interconnectedness of all things.
Step 1: Find a quiet, comfortable space
Choose a quiet and comfortable space where you can practice without distractions. You may sit on a chair or cushion or lie down on a mat, whichever feels most comfortable for you.
Step 2: Light a candle to open
Light a candle to symbolize the beginning of your practice and your intention to connect with your inner self and the universe. Take a moment to set this intention, allowing the candle's flame to represent the light within you and the energy that connects us all.
Step 3: Ground yourself
Close your eyes and take a few deep, slow breaths. Focus on the sensation of your breath as it fills your lungs and leaves your body. Allow your body to feel heavy and supported by the surface beneath you. Let go of any tension or tightness in your muscles.
Step 4: Connect with your inner strength
Place your hands on your solar plexus, the area just above your navel. As you breathe, imagine a warm, golden light radiating from this area, representing your inner strength, self-belief, and personal power. With each inhale, visualize this light growing brighter and stronger. With each exhale, feel the energy of this light expanding throughout your body.
Step 5: Visualize your connection to the universe
As you continue to breathe and connect with your inner strength, imagine a brilliant silver thread extending from the top of your head, reaching upwards and connecting you to the universe. Feel the energy of the universe flowing down this thread and merging with your golden light, symbolizing the interconnectedness of all things.
Step 6: Affirm your belief in self and something bigger
Silently repeat the following affirmations to yourself as you continue to breathe and visualize your connection with the universe:
- "I trust in my inner strength and wisdom."
- "I am connected to the infinite energy of the universe."
- "I am part of something bigger and my presence matters."
Step 7: Breathe and integrate
Take a few more deep breaths, allowing the energy of your inner strength and your connection to the universe to integrate fully within your body. Feel the power of this connection and the love that surrounds you.
Step 8: Close with gratitude
Bring your awareness back to the candle's flame. As you prepare to close your practice, take a moment to express gratitude for your connection to yourself and the universe. When you feel ready, gently blow out the candle, symbolizing the completion of your practice and your intention to carry this newfound connection and self-love into your daily life.
Step 9: Ground and return
Slowly bring your awareness back to your body and the room around you. Take a final deep breath, feeling the support of the earth beneath you. When you feel ready, gently open your eyes.
Practice this somatic self-love exercise regularly to deepen your belief in yourself and your connection to the universe. By embracing your inner strength and the interconnectedness of all things, you can foster a profound sense of somatic self-love and cultivate a greater appreciation for the magic and mystery of life.
